By downloading, installing, or using VeilApp ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of VeilApp after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify you of material changes through the Service.
You must be at least 16 years of age to use VeilApp. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using VeilApp on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
When you create an account on VeilApp, a cryptographic identity (VeilID) is generated locally on your device. Your VeilID is your presence on the platform. VeilApp does not require a phone number, email address, or any personally identifiable information to create an account. You are responsible for:
VeilApp supports multiple identity modes including real identity (optional), alias identity, ghost mode, and verified business identity. You may operate under any supported identity mode, subject to the specific requirements of the workspaces and groups you participate in. Workspace administrators may set policies that require certain identity standards within their workspace.
You agree to use VeilApp lawfully and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
VeilApp reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate action against anyone who, in our sole discretion, violates these terms, including removing content, suspending or terminating accounts, and reporting to law enforcement authorities where required.
VeilApp provides workspace and group collaboration features with administrative governance capabilities. If you create or administer a workspace or group:
If you are a member of a workspace or group, you agree to comply with the policies set by the administrators of that workspace or group. Workspace administrators may have visibility into administrative actions and audit logs, but cannot access the content of your encrypted messages.
VeilApp offers both free and paid subscription tiers. Certain features are available only to subscribers on specific plans.
Paid subscriptions provide access to additional features such as expanded group ownership limits, identity switching capabilities, and other premium functionality. The specific features available under each plan are described within the Service.
Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your selected plan). Payment is processed through third-party payment processors. VeilApp supports multi-currency transactions worldwide with USD-settled backend processing.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's app store or account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until the end of your paid period.
Refund eligibility is governed by the policies of the app store through which you purchased your subscription (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). VeilApp does not process refunds directly.
We may change subscription pricing from time to time. Price changes will not affect your current billing period. We will provide notice of price changes before they take effect.
VeilApp employs end-to-end encryption for messaging. Messages are encrypted on your device before transmission and stored on our servers as ciphertext with a nonce and version field. We cannot read, access, or decrypt the content of your messages. You are solely responsible for the content you send through the Service. Because we cannot access message content, we cannot comply with requests to produce the plaintext content of specific messages. This is by design, not by limitation. Disappearing messages, when enabled, are permanently deleted on schedule as enforced at the server level. Deleted messages cannot be recovered.
VeilApp provides voice and video calling capabilities across direct, group, and channel contexts. Call signaling and participant state management are handled through our infrastructure. Voice and video media transport is facilitated through third-party real-time communication providers. Call availability may be subject to device capability, network conditions, and subscription plan. VeilApp does not guarantee uninterrupted call service. Workspace administrators may enforce device-level access controls that affect call participation within workspace channels.
The VeilApp name, logo, VeilID, and all associated trademarks, service marks, and branding are the property of VeilApp. All rights are reserved. The Service, including its design, architecture, source code, and documentation, is protected by copyright, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of any content you create and transmit through the Service. By using the Service, you grant VeilApp a limited, non-exclusive licence to process and transmit your content solely as necessary to provide the Service (e.g., delivering encrypted message payloads to recipients).
VeilApp integrates with third-party services for specific functionality including cloud storage, real-time call infrastructure, and payment processing. Your use of these integrated services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. VeilApp is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services. VeilApp does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. While we employ robust security measures, no system is immune to all threats. You use the Service at your own risk. VeilApp does not guarantee that encrypted content will be permanently unrecoverable by all possible means. We implement industry-standard encryption practices but make no absolute guarantees regarding cryptographic invulnerability.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, VEILAPP AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO VEILAPP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (USD $100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless VeilApp and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to:
You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion, your account data will be removed from our active systems. VeilApp may suspend or terminate your account if:
We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before or at the time of suspension or termination, except where doing so would compromise an ongoing investigation or pose a safety risk.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction, as determined by applicable law in your region.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or if modification is not possible, it shall be severed. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and VeilApp regarding the Service. They supersede any prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral.
