How identity switching works

  • Identity updates are scoped to the target conversation.
  • Alias/public-key context can be updated through dedicated chat operations.
  • Server-side capability checks can restrict this on lower tiers.

Usage pattern

  1. Open the target conversation settings.
  2. Apply new identity context and confirm save.
  3. Send a test message to verify expected identity display.

Important note

  • Switching identity does not change your core account ownership.
  • Use clear internal policy for when alternate identities are appropriate.
